Sindh High Court adjourned on Tuesday hearing of a petition filed by the PPP late chairperson Benazir Bhutto to lodge a second FIR of Karsaz massacre.

Benazir Bhutto’s lawyer Adnan Karim asked the SHC bench, comprising Justice Qamaruddin Bohra, to dismiss the petition following the order of Sindh government to abolish the tribunal constituted to probe into the Karsaz bomb blasts.

However, on request of special prosecutor to give him some time so that he could take the directions from the government, court adjourned the hearing of the petition.

It is worth mentioning here that the government, without seeking PPP views, had lodged the FIR of the Karsaz bomb blasts, occurred on October 18, 2008 at the welcome rally of PPP late chairperson Benazir Bhutto on his return to the country after 10 years self-exile.

A sub-court had ordered Bahadurabad Police Station to file another FIR of the incident on behalf of Benazir Bhutto at her request in the court.

However, her lawyer latter filed a petition at SHC saying that the government and police has refused to follow the sub-court’s order to lodge a second FIR of the incident.
