Former Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim, who could not take oath as MPA on Saturday took oath in Sindh Assembly on Monday amidst intense slogan raising from PPP workers in the galleries at a session which started with a delay of three hours. Arbab Ghulam Rahim entered the Sindh Assembly Building from the gate of the parking side. Some PPP workers tried to misbehave with him but police escorted him to the asssembly’s lobby.However, he could not enter the assembly hall because of intense slogan raising by a large number of PPP workers present in the galleries.They raised anti-Arbab slogans and demanded that Arbab should not be allowed to enter the hall.Announcements were made from the speaker’s mike imploring the PPP workers not to raise slogans and maintain decorum of the House. However, the PPP workers kept raising slogans.The MQM MPAs who remained coalition partners of Arbab Ghulam Rahim’s government also did not come to the assembly hall without Arbab Ghulam Rahim.However, after long discussions they came to House at 12-15 P.M. after great persuasion by Nisar Khuhro and Pir Mazhar-ul-Huq.It was for the first time in the history of Sindh Assembly that police were called into the lobby of assembly hall for protection of former Chief Minister. After taking oath Arbab Rahim signed the roll of members.
