APDM conference second day session begins

The second day session of All Parties Democratic Movement (APDM) conference began today (Thursday) with Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Chief Qazi Hussain Ahmed presiding over the session. Earlier yesterday, two sessions of the National Conference were held which was attended among others by the Convener APDM Mehmood Khan Achakzai, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Qazi Hussain Ahmed, Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan, President High Court Bar Association Rawalpindi Sardar Asmat Ullah, Liaqat Baloch, Abdul Haye Baloch and General (R) Mirza Aslam Baig.

The Convener APDM said that national unity is essential to counter the challenges and all leaders must focus to resolve the problems through their wisdom.

Qazi Hussain Ahmed condemned the killing of innocent people in WANA, Balochistan and South Waziristan.

He criticised United States for interfering in internal affairs of Pakistan and termed American interference a root cause of all problems being faced by the country.

He said that lawyers and political leaders would have to find the solution to the judiciary crisis according to the aspirations of the people of Pakistan.

Imran Khan said that people had enthusiastically participated in the Long March but it is now up to the political leadership to fulfill their promises made with nation.

He said that people want restoration of judiciary adding that only justice can win the confidence of the people and bring relief in their lives.

Liaqat Baloch condemned the interference of the foreign elements in tribal areas and said situation at Pak-Afghan border is challenging for us.

A joint declaration will be announced today after mutual discussion among the participants of the conference.
