Altaf calls for stable Pakistan with autonomous provinces
The Chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Altaf Hussain has said that his party wants stable Pakistan with autonomous provinces.
He was addressing a conference organized by Sindh Intellectual Forum in a local hotel on the needs of national unity in Sindh. The conference was attended by intellectuals, writers, educationists, poets and journalists of Sindh.
Altaf Hussain said he and his party want a united and stable Pakistan. He called for equal rights to all provinces of the country.
He said the country passing through a very crucial period of its history surrounded by several threats. In this situation religious and political parties have been involved in political bickering with priority to their party interests, instead of informing the nation about the grim situation, Altaf said.
The MQM leader condemning the assassination of Benazir Bhutto said he had warned her on phone about threats and advised her against returning back to Pakistan.
The conference passed a resolution calling the people living in Sindh to thwart conspiracies against the province. In another resolution the moot demanded complete autonomy to all provinces of Pakistan. Several other resolutions were also passed in the conference.
