Aitezaz urges lawyers to participate in Black Flag Week Supreme Court Bar President Aitezaz Ahsan said the Long March announced for the restoration of judges has not been called off, adding he would announce the final date for Long March after viewing the steps taken by new government and parliament.
He said that his detention was illegal and he would take legal action again against the caretaker Punjab Chief Minister and the interior minister.
Talking to media after being released, Aitezaz said he would visit Benazir Bhutto’s grave in Garhi Khuda Bux in next some days; after which, he would go to Islamabad to see his party leadership. Aitezaz said the lawyers would participate in Black Flag Week from March 9 to 16, adding no judge cannot be deemed as freed until the deposed Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammed Chaudhry is restored to his office.
‘The Long March of lawyers has not been cancelled; it has been only deferred,’ Aitezaz maintained adding the march would be aimed against the hurdles impeding the independent judiciary. ‘Makhdoom Amin Fahim should be the Prime Minister,’ he said adding, ‘This is my opinion and I will accept any decision made by the party.’
