Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Saturday said that 93 per cent people of the country want reinstatement of deposed judges and independent judiciary.

Addressing his party’s women wing, he said that only an independent judiciary can check misuse of power by a government.

Commenting on the recent lawyers’ long march, he said it was a success and showed that people wanted change. He said the struggle was not yet over and would continue till the objectives were achieved.

PTI chairman said that before the 9/11 there was no terrorism in the country but the situation had deteriorated to the extent that even Afghanistan was making threats to Pakistan.

Imran said it is the responsibility of government to ensure basic facilities for the people like education, health and shelter and alleged that this was not being done.

He said the poor who were forced by poverty to committee crimes like theft were jailed but those who plundered national wealth were exonerated.

Central president of PTI Women Wing Fozia Kasuri and Islamabad president Zareen Nawaz were also present on the occasion.
