The 24-member Federal cabinet sworn in here on Monday. President Pervez Musharraf administered the oath. Pakistan Muslim League -N members took oath with black bands on their arms in protest. The Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians(PPPP) inducted the following as ministers.

Sherry Rehman (Information);
Syed Naveed Qamar (Privatisation, Port and Shipping);
Raja Pervez Ashraf (Water and Power);
Syed Khursheed Shah (Labour, Manpower and Overseas Pakistani);
Qamar Zaman Kaira (Kashmir Affairs);
Senator Farooq Naek (Law, Justice and Human Rights);
Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar (Defence);
Nazar Muhammad Gondal (Narcotics Control);
Najamuddin Khan (States and Frontier Region) and;
Mir Humayon Aziz Kurd (Minister for Population Welfare).
FROM PML-N:
Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan will hold the portfolios of Food, Agriculture and Livestock and Communications;
Senator Ishaq Dar: Finance, Economic Affairs and Commerce;
Ahsan Iqbal: Education;
Tehmina Daultana: Women Development;
Sardar Mehtab Abbasi: Railways;
Khwaja Asif: Petroleum and Natural Resources;
Rana Tanveer Hussain: Defence Production;
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi: Trade;
Khwaja Saad Rafiq: Minister for Youth Affairs.
The Awami National Party(ANP) members, Ghulam Ahmed Bilour and Khwaja Mohammed Khan Hoti, have been allotted local government and rural development and social welfare, respectively.
The JUI-F member Rehmatullah Kakar and parliamentarian from Fata Hameedullah Jan Afridi also took oath as Federal ministers. Meanwhile, the PML-N ministers did not attend the luncheon President Musharraf hosted in the honour of the new cabinet.
After the formation of the cabinet, the countdown for restoration of deposed judges under the Murree Declaration has started, according to which over 60 deposed judges will be reinstated after 30 days of the cabinet oath-taking.
Moreover, PPPP, PML-N and JUI have selected one Senator each from party for induction in the new cabinet - Farooq Naek from the PPP, Ishaq Dar from the PML-N and Rahmatullah Kakar from the JUI-F. Sources said that JUI-F leader Fazlur Rehman would be the Chairman, Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir.
In the new Federal cabinet, out of the 11 PPPP ministers, only four - Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Ahmad Mukhtar, Khursheed Ahmad Shah and Naveed Qamar - were part of the cabinet in the past.
