20 kids injured in Rawalpindi gas blast

At least 20 school children and two teachers have been injured in a gas explosion in a Rawalpindi school.

The incident occurred this morning in Rawalpind’s Gawal-Mandi area when fifth grade students arrived in their classroom. The gas-heater in the room exploded due to leakage and the resulting fire destroyed the classroom.

The injured have been shifted to District Headquarters Hospital, Rawalpindi where four of them are stated to be in critical condition.
