13 dacoits killed in Sahiwal shootout

At least 13 dacoits have been killed in a shootout with the villagers in a Sahiwal suburban village 9-L in the wee hours of Sunday.
According to DSP City Malik Daud, more than 20 armed dacoits entered the village at Saturday-Sunday night. Finding them inside the village, the guards on the rooftop of Sardar Nazir’s house–village chieftain– warned them. Thereupon, a gunbattle ensued resulting in the killings of at least 13 dacoits; whereas, others managed to escape.
A heavy contingent of police arrived on the spot. The dead bodies have been sent for postmortem.
Police have started the search for the culprits.
