12000 ballot boxes torched in Sindh: ECAs many as 12,000 transparent ballot boxes were completely destroyed in Sindh during riots last week, Election Commissioner Sindh Chaudhry Qamar-uz-Zaman said on Friday.

Talking to private TV, he said, election commission has planned to meet the shortage of transparent ballot boxes with iron ballot boxes as it has plenty of iron boxes at its disposal.

He said, 11 offices of election commission were destroyed across Sindh alongwith relevant record including election material.While four offices of the election commission in various cities of the province were destroyed completely.

He was visiting the offices across the province to assess the damages.

EC would overcome the problems and ensure in time elections next month.
